Vineeta with Tr. Rebello30 years just fell away, when the batch of 1980 gathered at the portals of Sacred Heart on November 27, 2010. What did it feel like? Like nostalgia in a bottle…. memories of growing up, learning to stand up for oneself, lunches shared with friends under the shade of trees, standing completely at attention when the bell peeled in fear of the Cabinet Members doing their rounds….of course, all this in addition to English, Math, History & Geography....all came rushing back. Along with the tears that threatened to overwhelm us, as we thought back to all the reasons why we wanted to grow up and fly the skies….when being in that safe environment had been so much sweeter!

Shyamala with Tr. RebelloThe batch of 1976 celebrated its 35th year as "ex Conventees" by meeting up at school. Twenty seven students from all over the world... Moscow, Canada, South Africa, USA, Mumbai, Kerela, Kolkata, Goa, Dhanbad, Ranchi and many other places got together on the 7th of January 2011 and spent three wonderful days together.

The first meeting was at Sonnet, Bistupur on the 7th of January, in the evening, where we had a nostalgic meeting with each other... seeing each other after 35 long years. Sushma ChaturvediAssociation of Sacred Heart Alumni ASHA is much more than a mere alumni association, it is an attempt on the part of its members to give back to Sacred Heart Convent School and to Jamshedpur, a small fraction of what they have given us, making us the individuals that we are today. From a mere idea into a burgeoning organisation, ASHA’s growth chart from inception to maturity is more than praiseworthy. However these laurels rest on the shoulders of the many who have selflessly contributed their time and energy into shaping ASHA into the organisation that it is today. Congratulations to Committees past and present and members who have made this possible. Not only am I proud to be an alumna of Sacred Heart, but also to be a part of this wonderful group of people that call themselves ASHA. You truly symbolize hope in all its forms!
