Girl Child Day 2022

International Day of the Girl Child is celebrated on 11th October, all over the world to raise awareness about the discrimination and inequality faced by girl children and encourage people to unite in fighting against these issues.

ASHA, Association of Sacred Heart Alumni celebrated International Day of the Girl Child on Monday, 17th October in the main hall of the school building. Chief guest, Dr Ragini Bhushan graced the occasion. Sister Rashmita, Principal of Sacred Heart School was the Guest of Honour. The program was inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and a welcoming address. ASHA President Sumita Singh; Secretary G Lalitha; Treasurer Mahrookh Mehta and Dr Deepali Misra were present at the inauguration.

An entertaining, colourful group dance performance was put up by the students of Carmel Bal Bihar School, which enthralled the audience. ASHA celebrated this event by bringing together students of 11 Hindi Project Schools and holding various competitions.

There were various Competitions held. Poster making, Rangoli, Mehdi Designing, Video making and Group dance. Overall Champion School, winning the Champion Trophy was Carmel Bal Vihar School for the hearing impaired. The runner-up was Sacred Heart Hindi Project School. Individual Medals were awarded by Dr Ragini Bhushan and Sister Rashmita. Certificates were distributed to all the participants. ASHA gave away Scholarships of Rs1000 each to two girls from each of the eleven participating schools.

School bags, sets of notebooks and stationery were gifted to all the participants. The program ended with gifting plant saplings as tokens of appreciation to the guests. Vote of thanks and snack packets to everyone present.
