The inter-faith prayer of thanksgiving and music show for the students held this morning was just a glimpse of what is in the offing.

The Alumni of Sacred Heart Association (Asha) will take the lead by organising "Festivity-60", a reunion of not only the ex-students but also all the teachers and students on January 29.

As part of the yearlong celebrations, the school will launch its official website within a week followed by a host of literary and cultural events. The alumni would also endeavour to extend their services for a social cause.

"We will also pool resources to assist Samaria Ashram, a leper colony, by mid-year. However, now we are geared up to give the entire Sacred Heart family a great time," said Cashmira Kotwal, president of Asha.

"Our plan includes talks by two speakers, Sujata Mitra and ex-student Arundhati Dhar. We are also planning a prayer service, welcome dance and a few cultural items," said Kotwal. The reunion promises to be a model miniature representation of what the Sacred Heart family is all about.

"Apart from a few dance numbers, a fashion show with four rounds ? bridal wear, saree, salwar and casuals ? has also been lined up for the evening," said Roopali Patel, an active member of the association. DJ Harshit from Calcutta will be flown in to belt out the latest tracks for a dance party.

And this is just the beginning of more to follow throughout the year.
