Shayne shine for steel city
Being organised by the Association of Sacred Heart Alumni (ASHA), the ex-students’ wing of Sacred Heart Convent School, the event aims to raise funds for the underprivileged girl child. Secretary of ASHA Roopali Patel explained that their focus is on educating children with HIV positive parents.
To be held at the BOC Pavilion, the sensational evening has been aptly christened “Shayne Rocks”. From olden Bollywood classics to the current hits, the star performer would also churn out a few foot tapping Punjabi beats, leaving his audience craving for more.
Moving away from the desi hits would be a journey through English classics. “It would be a mix of old and contemporary numbers. Though he is in the final stages of shortlisting songs, a few changes might creep in, according to the mood of the audience,” explained Patel.
Entry to the open-air show would rest entirely on the discretion of the alumni. Organisers are hoping to see a grand turn out of students for the gala show.
“We are sure youngsters would take an active interest in the rock show, since they have never known what this popular form of music is all about,” added Patel. This is also an attempt on the part of the organisers to bring back the popular form of music back to the city.
