When the old girls of the schools met to celebrate diamond jubilee of the school, it was time to realise that many of its wonder girls today don the mantle of principals and teachers in scores of city schools.

Members of the SHC alumni perform a traditional danceMembers of Association of Sacred Heart Alumni (ASHA) danced, once again set the ramp on fire and few tears rolled down the cheeks during Festivity 60. Once known as Latika Menon, 1964 alumni of SHC and former principal of DBMS School had a tough time explaining how her last name changed to Das.

So was the case with Sweta Rungta who is now Sweta Jha.

To add to the list of formers tudents turned principals were Nargis Madon of JH Tarapore School, Lalita Sareen of Jamshedpur Public School and Shireen Dhotiwala of Baug-e Jamsheed. Ronald D’Costa and Pratim Banerjee are among the past pupils of the school.

“Very few of the present generation know that we had boys on the campus. It was in the late 70’s that they were driven out and the school was converted to all-girl affair. In fact they were fortunate to share our company” quipped the ASHA members.

Girl-charm once again returned as the veteran former students took to the stage. Dressed to kill they walked down the ramp.

To further add zing to the festivity was the Russian dance that nearly dazed everyone.

The history of the school was once again recreated through a multimedia presentation.

To end the celebration was the pulsating music of the DJ on which the ASHA members danced for hours.
